I am a Consultant General Surgeon with a specialist interest in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery and Weight Loss Surgery. I worked as a Consultant Upper GI Surgeon at Maidstone/Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust since 2010.

My specialist interest is laparoscopic and minimally invasive techniques to deal with gall stones, reflux disease and abdominal hernias. I also offer sleeve gastrectomy, endoscopic sleeve, balloon and gastric bypass to treat obesity and weight gain. My extensive surgical experience was consolidated both in the UK and abroad.

My main clinical focus has been to listen to your complaints and tailor an intervention plan which will work for you within the timeframe that you need.

I qualified as a medical doctor in 1992. I then undertook a residency programme in general surgery and was appointed to a university lectureship post due to my outstanding academic achievements. I was awarded a laparoscopic biliary fellowship, involving advanced laparoscopic interventions, including complex laparoscopic cholecystectomies and bile duct explorations.

Following the award of a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training, I successfully completed an advanced bariatric fellowship in a Centre of Bariatric Excellence, offering laparoscopic bands, sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass.

I have published widely in my field and have been an invited speaker in annual surgical conferences. As a result I was promoted to a Professorship of General Surgery at University in Cairo.
